Wanna green your Halloween? Some tips:
- Plastic pumpkins aren’t necessary to bring in all that candy – use a pillowcase or other reusable bag (we’ve got Chico bags in some nice fall colors, they’re the perfect size for trick-or-treating and great for groceries the rest of the year).
- Don’t go out and buy a cheap plastic made-in-China costume for you or your kids. Buy used clothing at thrift stores and improvise!
- Make your own makeup
- OK, it may be too late for this year, but shop early next year for used home and yard decorations at secondhand stores! Or better yet, make your own from stuff you have around the house! Donate yours when if you’re done with them, don’t throw them out!
- Consider handing out healthier, organic treats – Glee gum anyone? Endangered Species chocolate, fruit leather, or boxes of organic raisins are just a few options.
- Compost your pumpkin! Roast and eat the seeds!
Have fun everyone!
